Religious Leadership Cultural Alliance

“Henry Van Til once observed that ‘culture is religion externalized.’ By this he meant that the culture of a nation reflects the true faith of that people. The way a people live their lives, the way they communicate, their philosophy of work, and their approach to aesthetics all reflect the standards and priorities of the people, and those priorities are dictated by their true faith.”
-- Doug Philips, Vision Forum, Inc.

RLCA both supports existing effective religious networks and establishes one that provides a unified voice and power for supporting families, and improving the values of our schools and government.

The purpose of the Alliance is two-fold:

  1. To provide a mechanism whereby religious leaders can have a collective voice on cultural issues and help influence society.
  2. The Alliance is a resource for religious leaders. We have taught seminars, and published materials on such concepts as:
  • Family - The Family, as the foundational unit of society, is vitally important. We see the preservation of the Family as a watershed issue which determines the worthiness of all public programs and legislation.
  • Marriage - We believe monogamous, heterosexual marriage is the only suitable model for the family. The vital role of parents in child rearing is to oversee and guide a child’s development; this includes all areas of nurture, education and character formation.
  • Abortion - We believe children are a gift from God. Therefore, life begins at conception, and, thus, abortion for the sake of convenience is a grievous sin.

The RLCA acts as a network to inform and rally religious leaders on various cultural issues of the day and to encourage them to publicly take a stand.

You can get involved in a number of ways:

  • Newsletter - Sign up for our newsletter, A Closer Look.
  • Sponsors' Packet - Learn how easy it is to support us.
  • E-mail Newsletter - Real Vermont News
  • Community Forum Clubs - Meet with others to discuss topics of interest concerning our culture and ways to bring about change. You may even start your own group!

The Religious Leadership Cultural Alliance is here to help you. We understand the heavy workload many religious leaders face; we will not be an additional burden.
